Regional Chamber names new director for foundation

YOUNGSTOWN – Michael McGiffin has been named director of the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber Foundation where he will oversee operations at the non-profit support organization for the Regional Chamber.

McGiffn, of Poland, holds a Master’s degree in Education and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, both from Youngstown State University.

Previously he worked with the Allegheny Intermediate Unit as project manager in leading a team and education experts in the swift change from in-person learning to remote learning during COVID-19. McGiffin also served as chief strategy officer at Stambaugh Auditorium and director of Events and Special Projects for the City of Youngstown, including implementing “City of You” rebrand effort and accepting more than $6 million in property and financial donations for Stambaugh Auditorium and planning the current historic restoration project.

The Foundation supports many economic development activities, including projects like Steel to Scholars, Operation Save Our Air Reserves, Bring it Home, a project that worked to secure Chevy Cruze production in Lordstown, and others.
