One new COVID-19 death was reported in Mahoning County today, bringing the total to 161.

While Columbiana reported two, Trumbull had no new deaths.

Overall, there are 252 COVID-19 deaths in the Valley –161 in Mahoning, 40 in Trumbull and 51 in Columbiana counties.

There are 28,174 confirmed cases of the virus in Ohio today, up from 29,436 Wednesday.

In Mahoning County, there have been 1,290 confirmed cases, up from 1,262 Wednesday. There have been 499 cases in Trumbull County, up from 478 Wednesday. In Columbiana County, there have been 467 cases today, up from 457 a day earlier.

In the state, 5,295 people have been hospitalized because of the virus, up from 5,198 the day prior. Of those, 1,397 people have been in intensive-care units, up from 1,369 Wednesday.
