Eight new COVID-19 deaths were reported in the Mahoning Valley today.

Four of the deaths were in Mahoning and four in Columbiana counties.

There were no deaths reported today in Trumbull County.

Overall, there are 248 COVID-19 deaths in Valley: 160 in Mahoning, 39 in Trumbull and 49 in Columbiana counties.

There are 1,781 COVID-19 deaths in the state as of today, up from 1,720 Tuesday.we

There are 29,436 confirmed cases of the virus in Ohio today, up from 28,952 Tuesday.

There are 1,262 cases in Mahoning County today, up from 1,247 Tuesday. There are 478 cases in Trumbull County today, up from 469 Tuesday. In Columbiana County, there are 457 cases today, up from 453 a day earlier.

Statewide, 5,198 people have been hospitalized as of today because of the virus, up from 5,117 Tuesday.

There are 1,369 people in intensive-care units, up from 1,357 Tuesday.
