Mon. 10:10 a.m.: Murder trial deliberations continue in Youngstown
YOUNGSTOWN – Deliberations have resumed in the aggravated murder trial of Brian Donlow Jr. and Stephon Hopkins in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.
The jury deliberated two hours late Friday and went home for the weekend at just before 5 p.m.
Donlow, 25, and Hopkins, 23, are charged with aggravated murder, murder and being a felon in possession of a firearm in the June 18, 2018, shooting death of Brandon Wylie, 30, near the playground of the Plaza View apartments on the East Side.
Judge Anthony D’Apolito was scheduled to preside over another murder trial this morning, but Mark Winlock Jr., 19, of Deer Creek Court in Austintown, entered a guilty plea Friday to murder in the March 3, 2018, killing of Brandon Wareham, eliminating the need for that trial.
A jury found a co-defendant, Michael Sherman, 21, guilty Friday of aggravated murder and aggravated robbery in case and will also be sentenced later.
