Area group’s campaign to fight hunger beginning

FOOD DONATIONS: Second Harvest Food Bank’s “Fight Hunger, Spark Change” campaign will run in Walmart and Sam’s Club stores through May 3. People can donate at the checkout line or at www.FeedingAmerica.org/WalMart or www. FeedingAmerica.org/ Sam’s Club. For every participating product purchased in store or online at WalMart.com or SamsClub.com, the supplier will donate the monetary equivalent of at least one meal on behalf of a Feeding America member food bank at Walmart and five meals at Sam’s Club up to applicable limits.

SCHOLARSHIP OFFERED: Applications are being accepted for the Catholic collegiate scholarship with $1,000 toward college costs. Catholic women in good standing at a college or university for the 2021-22 academic year are eligible. Applications must be received by April 30. LIBRARIAN RECOGNIZED: The Hubbard Public Library’s children’s librarian Mary Anne Russo has been recognized by the American Library Association. Russo was named a “Star” by the ALA Galaxy of Stars program this year. The program recognizes, celebrates and honors stellar librarians.

FOOD GIVEAWAY: The Mount Zion Baptist Church, 827 Wilson Ave., Youngstown, will have a drive-thru food giveaway 10 to 11 a.m. the third Tuesday of each month. Commodities will be canned goods and meat.
