CARD REQUESTS: Project Tom was created by three of Thomas “Tom” Plumeret’s granddaughters by committing to do 84 acts of kindness between Tom’s birthday and Christmas. Tom was born in Sturgeon, Pa., on Sept. 21, 1935, and died on July 24, 2019, in Hubbard, where he was as a lifelong resident. One of Tom’s favorite things to do was sending cards to his loved ones. It didn’t matter the occasion: birthday, Halloween, Christmas, anniversary, graduation and the list can go on. This became a family tradition for everyone. Sending a card is like sending a hug in the mail to our family. Part of this included sending out Christmas cards but Tom’s legacy deserves to be seen year-round, hence the beginning of Project Tom.

“National Send a Card to a Friend Day” is Friday. Project Tom is looking for card requests to spread joy in Tom’s memory. Requests can be submitted on www.project tom.org. To get involved or learn more, contact Marcy Angelo at 330-509-2420.
