Celebration set in Lisbon

The Seeing Eye

CHINESE NEW YEAR: A Chinese New Year celebration will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the Lepper Library in Lisbon. 2020 is the Year of the Rat. There will be stories, crafts, Chinese calligraphy and the history of the holiday. For all ages. Call the library at 330-424-3117 for more information.

POOL PARTY: Camp Jewish Community Center will hold an open house and free pool party 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the JCC, 505 Gypsy Lane. Registration will begin at 1 p.m. A parent information session will be at 1:30 p.m. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

The camp is for children entering grades 1 to 8 and open to everyone. Campers participate in activities that promote cultural awareness, encourage teamwork and provide educational and recreational activities. Campers also attend field trips and spend one day per week at JCC Logan Campus. For more information, visit jcc youngstown.org.

GLASSES FOR CHILDREN: Sight for All United teams up with volunteers from Eye Care Associates and Classic Optical Laboratories to dispense 614 pairs of glasses in the Youngstown and Liberty school districts this week.

Sight for All United in December provided full eye exams for the children who failed vision screenings. Through a collaborative effort with Classic Optical Laboratories and Essilor Vision Foundation, all children will receive two pair of glasses, one for home and one for school.

STRUTHERS 1956: Struthers High School Class of 1956 classmates will meet for breakfast at 10 a.m. Feb. 1 at a new location, TJ’s at the Holiday Inn on South Avenue, Youngstown. All classmates are welcome.
