Seeing Eye: New to the Valley? This party is for you

NEWCOMERS CHRISTMAS: Newcomers of Mahoning Valley’s Christmas party will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday at The Blue Wolf , Route 224 in Boardman. Lunch will be at 2 p.m., followed by a gift-exchange game. Newcomers is a social group formed over 30 years ago to help people new to the area, or those that have had a change in their life, and would like to make new friends and find out more about the community. Members celebrate birthdays, have a book club, go out to eat, see movies and do needlework with different interest groups.

PROCRASTINATOR’S SHOPPER: A Procrastinator’s Shopping Event will be held 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at St. Michael’s Church Family Life Center, 340 N. Broad St, Canfield.

This last-minute gift shopping experience will provide an opportunity for the local community to shop with local small business vendors who have unique items available for gifting. A wide variety of vendors include those with handcrafted items such as wooden lighting, holiday crafts, rugs and handwoven pieces, recycled metal art, jewelry, and boutique clothing for women, as well as gifts for men, like beard products. There will be bakers, makers and crafters, as well as small businesses.

Shoppers are asked to bring a food item to donate as well, and will be collected at the door. Free admission.

POLKA CHRISTMAS: The third annual Old Fashioned Polka Christmas party will be held 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Bessemer Croation Club Ballroom, 601 E Poland Ave., Bessemer, Pa.
