World War II group to meet

SEABEES VETERAN TO SPEAK: Daryl Duffet, a local Seabees veteran, will speak to members of the World War II Heritage Group when it meets at 6:15 p.m. Monday at A La Cart Catering in Canfield. The speech will be preceded by a buffet dinner ($14), with reservations due with Dave Frank, 330-757-0515.

Duffet will share his story of service in both the African and the Pacific theaters. He was present at Iwo Jima and Okinawa.

NURSES TO MEET: The Youngstown Council of Catholic Nurses will meet noon Wednesday at The Manor, 3104 S. Canfield Niles Road, Youngstown. The annual Chinese auction will be held.

BEERS AND BBQ: H.D. Davis CPAs and White Glove Payroll will host the inaugural Beers and BBQ event 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Birdfish Brewery Down Low, 140 E. Park Ave., Columbiana. The evening will benefit Potential Development School for Students with Autism.
