NATIONWIDE OBSERVANCE: In recognition of National Adoption Month, adoption events will take place today at the Trumbull County Probate Court and Mahoning County Probate Court. Waiting children will be seeking adoptive families. Taking part in the events will be Trumbull County Children Services and Mahoning County Children Services. National Adoption Day is a collective effort to raise awareness of the more than 125,000 children waiting to be adopted from foster care in the United States.

FOOD GIVEAWAY: The Eastside Crime Watch is holding a food giveaway 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, at the old fire station on Oak and Fruit streets in Youngstown. Bring idnetification and a bag.

TRAINS AND HOLIDAYS: Model trains of all shapes and sizes can be seen at the Youngstown Model Railroad Association Fall Open House noon to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 9 and 10, and Dec. 7 and 8, at the club. It is located at the corner of North Raccoon Road and Four Mile Run Road in

Austintown.

The Youngstown Model Railroad Association is one of the few clubs in the country that has two complete displays: ‘O’ scale and the smaller ‘HO’. Both extensive layouts feature more than 100 scale miles of track each.
