Church feeds people for the holiday

COMMUNITY THANKSGIVING: The First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown, corner of Wick Avenue and Wood Street, will hold a free community Thanksgiving dinner 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday. This is the 39th year for the event.

WORKSHOP CANCELED: Jewish Family Services and Jewish Community Center of Youngstown have canceled today’s art workshops as part of their Aging Well program.

REUNION TODAY: Chaney High School Class of 1957 will hold a reunion luncheon at noon today at Davidson’s Restaurant in Cornersburg.

EVENT BENEFITS RESIDENTS: The Salem Regional Medical Center Foundation’s “Be the Difference” campaign, in partnership with Salem Giant Eagle, raised more than $4,200 to benefit local residents receiving advanced cancer treatment at SRMC. From Oct. 1 through Nov. 9, shoppers at Giant Eagle in Salem supported the campaign by making $1, $5 and $10 donations at checkout to the SRMC Foundation on behalf of area cancer patients. Residents were also invited to join Salem Giant Eagle for a “Wine it Up Wednesday” tasting event in October supporting the fundraiser.The campaign raised $4,267 over a six-week period.

SUPPORT GROUP: Survivors of Suicide Support Group will meet 6 p.m. today at the Disciples Christian Church, 565 Boardman-Canfield Road, Boardman. The group provides support to families who have lost a loved one to suicide. For information, call 330-747-2696.
