Valley Scouts to mark 100th anniversary Saturday

SCOUTING TURNS 100: Camp Stambaugh’s 100th anniversary committee is hosting a 100th birthday of Scouting celebration 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at 3712 Leffingwell Road, Canfield.

Attendees are to park at Gate 12 at the Canfield Fairgrounds and will be shuttled to Camp Stambaugh. There is a $20 cost for anyone 7 and older. Register at www.scoutingevent.com/433-stambaugh100.

There will be more than 40 stations of displays and activities throughout the day. Food vendors also will be available.

LUNCH REUNION: Campbell Memorial High School Class of 1963 will meet for lunch at noon Wednesday at Barry Dyngle’s Pub, 1601 S. Raccoon Road, Austintown.

DEMENTIA LIVE: The Inn at Walker Mill, a Briarfield assisted living and memory care community in Boardman, is partnering with Ohio Living Home Health and Hospice and the Alzheimer’s Association to offer “Dementia Live,” a 30-minute high-impact experience to immerse participants into life with dementia. The idea is to give participants a deeper understanding of what it is like to live with cognitive impairment and sensory change.

Tours will take place 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday at The Inn at Walker Mill, 8060 South Ave., Boardman. Representatives from Ohio Living Home Health & Hospice and the Alzheimer’s Association will be available during the event to provide information and answer questions. LIONS HOST ZONE MEET: Canfield Lions Club is hosting the Zone meeting for the Lions, Thursday at A La Carte Catering, 429 Lisbon Road, Canfield. Social hour begins at 6 p.m., with dinner and meeting to follow.

MUSEUM DAY: Smithsonian magazine is sponsoring its 15th annual Museum Day, an initiative in which participating museums across the United States open their doors for free to those who download a branded ticket.

Nationally, Museum Day has been designated for Saturday, but the Salem Historical Society and a few others had the option to offer the free admission with the downloaded ticket for two guests Sunday during regular hours of 1 to 4 p.m., with the last tour beginning at 3:30. One ticket per household is permitted.
