Eastern Gateway honored for digital textbook move
YOUNGSTOWN — Eastern Gateway Community College has received the 2021 Institutional Stewardship Award from the Multimedia Educational Resource for Learning and Online Teaching project for the schools commitment to transition to low-cost or free digital textbook.
Starting in 2017, EGCC began the transition away from expensive traditional textbooks. Today, more than 200 of EGCC’s courses use open educational resources, saving students $22.6 million in textbook costs, according to the school.
