County real estate firms create commercial group

CANFIELD — Two well-known realty groups have formed a new commercial real estate company, uniting two family-owned businesses in the Mahoning Valley.

Boardman-based Burgan Real Estate and Youngstown’s Friedkin Commercial Realty have announced Burgan Friedkin Commercial Group.

“With the creation of this new company, Burgan Friedkin Commercial Group will offer a wider breadth of services while developing a roster of experienced team members to better lead clients and our developments in the Mahoning Valley,” said Patrick Burgan, co-owner of Burgan Real Estate.

The new company’s office is at 3223 Belmont Ave., Youngstown.

Burgan Real Estate, which has operated in the Mahoning Valley for 43 years, is led by second generation co-owners, Burgan and Sue Filipovich. Total sales for the agency were over $100 million in 2019.

Friedkin has existed for 40 years. Founded by Alan Friedkin, the company has developed, leased, managed and sold hundreds of thousands of square feet of real estate in the Mahoning Valley. Most recently, he represented Mercy Health in the sale of property on U.S. Route 224 to Carnegie Development to develop a Meijer grocery store.

Said Friedkin, “I am excited to bring my years of experience in the commercial and business arena to this new venture … Uniting with Burgan Real Estate will deliver all of today’s modern techniques for marketing to better serve our clients and all of their needs.”
