Liberty gets new police dog

LIBERTY — Judge Jeffrey Adler of Girard Municipal Court today sworn in Leo, the township police department’s canine officer.

The dog was paid for in part from community and school official donations.

The dog is named after Justin Leo, the Girard officer who was shot and killed in the line of duty in 2017. The Leo family is in attendance.

Officer David Rankin is the dog’s handler.
