The wrong day was listed in Monday’s Worth a Look column about a free open house sponsored by the Mahoning Valley Historical Society. The event has already taken place.
Market will take place Friday
The Mission Night Market will take place from 6 to 11 p.m. Friday at Huntington Place Plaza, 1393 Boardman-Canfield Road. Proceeds benefit the Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley.
Each month the night markets will provide opportunities for local producers to share healthy foods, new businesses to get their feet wet, for musicians to reach new audiences, for community groups to share their programs.
There will be more than 40 local and regional food, craft and vendors plus music and family-friendly options. Highlights include: 330 Beard Co., HOOP, there it is, and MishMoccs.
For information, visit www.missionnightmarket.org or call 234-254-0170.
The board of trustees of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County will meet in regular session at 4 p.m. Thursday in the meeting room of the Michael Kusalaba Library, 2815 Mahoning Ave.
The trustee finance, audit and investment committee will meet before the full board meeting at 3:15 p.m. also in the Michael Kusalaba Library meeting room.
The purpose of the meeting is to review the depository proposals received by the library.
Block party planned
Canfield Christian Church, 123 South Broad St., will host the Alice Johns Memorial Block Party from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The event will include games for all ages, raffles, smoked and grilled turkey, beef, hotdogs, picnic foods and desserts, which are free for attendees.
Door prizes include a stay at Fattoria Bed and Breakfast and two bicycles. Proceeds from the raffles will benefit the lunch program at Canfield Schools and the Rescue Mission.
The block party has been renamed The Alice Johns Memorial Block Party for Alice’s contributions to the community through church leadership.
