SENIOR CITIZENS


Canfield AARP 3104 will meet Monday at 1 p.m. at the Canfield Presbyterian Church. Blood-pressure checks will be available from noon to 12:45 p.m. before the meeting. The November meeting will feature Delmar Stubbs of the Veterans Service Commission recognizing veterans and Veterans Day. He will give information regarding the Veterans Service Commission and what is available to veterans. The December meeting will be a luncheon at A La Cart Catering. Reservations will be taken at the November meeting. Choice of entree will include stuffed pork chop, Swiss steak or chicken cordon bleu. Checks only. Dollar Bank Retirees will meet at 11:30 a.m. Dec. 6 at the Holiday Inn in Boardman for the annual Christmas luncheon. All former employees are invited, whether retired or not. For information, call Sandy Ross at 330-506-1290.

Mahoning Retired Teachers Association will meet Nov. 14 at Drake’s Landing, 2177 W. Western Reserve Road, Canfield. The social hour will begin at 11 a.m., and lunch will be at 11:45. The meeting and program will follow. Susan Harris will preside. The American Legion will present colors in honor of Veterans Day. Sonia Tsvetkoff, scholarship chairwoman, will introduce and present MRTA’s scholarships to YSU School of Education students, and Deana DeLuca will speak on “Mindfulness and Meditation.” The community-service collection will benefit the Canfield Veterans Auxiliary. SOAR 27-2 and 27-6 Steelworkers Retirees – Local Union 1330 and 1331 will meet at 1 p.m. Monday at Smith Corners United Methodist Church, 3000 S. Niles-Canfield Road, Austintown. Reservations will be taken for the Dec. 3 Christmas Party. New members are welcome.

Seton III will host its next meeting at noon Thursday at the Saxon Club in Youngstown. The speaker will be Susan D. Laird, LPCC-S, CDCA executive director, Northeast Ohio Coalition Against Human Trafficking. Hostesses will be Carole Ruggieri, chairwoman; Ellen Carney, Helen Golden and Shirley Zambetis.

TMH Retirees Club will be host a luncheon meeting Nov. 12 at 11:30 a.m. at the Buena Vista Cafe in Warren. The speaker will be Don Hyde, who will talk about senior fraud. Youngstown State University Retirees will host its monthly breakfast at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Davidsons Restaurant in Cornersburg. All retirees are welcome.
