Canfield speech team competes at The John Revezzo Invitational Tournament

The Canfield Speech and Debate team recently competed at The John Revezzo Invitational Tournament hosted by Niles McKinley High School on Nov. 11. Approximately 350 students participated representing a total of 17 schools.
At the end of competition, Canfield earned distinction as the first place team. Additionally, Dominic DeRamo earned the Brian Peteritis Memorial Award, given to the tournament’s top speaker. DeRamo competes in United States Extemp. With the first place finish, Canfield has won the first four regular season weekends.
Other Canfield students earning recognition for their performances were: in Congress - Drake Safanic (first), Ben Lawson (sixth); in Drama - Alanna Holden (second); in Humor - Ashton Gingerich (first), Jared Cross (third), Kaleigh Ceci (sixth); in Informative - Gregory Halley (first); in Intermation Extemp - Smaranda Solomon (third); in Lincoln-Douglas Debate - Eva Lamberson (first), Jessica Lee (fourth); in Original Oratory - Jackson Horvat (second); in Program Oral Interpretation - Abi Hursh (first), Camryn Heldreth (fourth), Kat Roman (sixth); in Public Forum Debate - Jennifer Smith and Dominic DuPonty (first), Taryn Rothbauer and Michael Factor (second), and in United States Extemp - Anna Sinclair (third/tie) and Julia Petrallo (third/tie).
