Man treated for gunshot wound in arm

WARREN — A 23-year-old man was being treated at Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital late Thursday afternoon after he was shot in the arm on Wick Street Southeast earlier in the day.

The scene of the shooting was just a few houses away from a double homicide that took place April 13 on Wick Street Southeast, though police have not indicated there is any connection between the two shootings.

The shooting April 13 killed Lloyd McCoy Jr., 11, and Marvin Chaney, 26. Three men have been charged in the crime.

Police were called to Wick Street near Rogers Avenue after gunshots were reported at 2 a.m. They found a hat in the street and a coat in the grass between the street and sidewalk. A neighbor said a fight had occurred in the street and in a front yard, but individuals left in a white car after the gunshots were fired.

The emergency room at Forum Health also reported to police that a gunshot victim had just come to the hospital.

The gunshot victim, who is from Youngstown, would not tell police anything, but an officer did determine the victim had been shot on Wick Street and that the victim and another man had left in a white car and drove to the hospital.
