Robins to show classic horror films for Halloween

WARREN — The Robins Theatre will be showing horror classics during the month of October.

The series starts Oct. 2-3 with “The Shining,” a 1980 film directed by Stanley Kubrick and based on Stephen King’s best-selling novel about a writer (Jack Nicholson) who goes crazy while secluded with his family at a Colorado hotel that is closed for the winter.

Other films in the series include William Friedkin’s “The Exorcist” (1973) on Oct. 9-10; Alfred Hitchcock’s “Psycho” (1960) on Oct. 16-17; John Carpenter’s “Halloween” (1978) on Oct. 23-24; and the musical “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” for Halloween weekend on Oct. 30-31. No outside prop bags will be permitted for “Rocky Horror.”

All screenings are at 8 p.m. Tickets are $6 and are available in advance online at www.robinstheatre.com.
