Assorted ramblings from the world of entertainment:

● After announcing two weeks ago that Warren’s Ghost Walk would be canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Fine Arts Council of Trumbull County and the Trumbull County Historical Society are planning a virtual edition for 2020.

The October fundraiser features costumed actors at sites along Mahoning Avenue NW in downtown Warren sharing some of the sad, strange and eerie tales from Trumbull County’s past.

Actors still will be needed for the video presentation. Auditions are planned Wednesday and Sept. 3 and 4 at the Art on Park building, 180 N. Park Ave., Warren.

● Saturday’s livestream gala for the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra served as a reminder of the contributions Randall Craig Fleischer made to the Mahoning Valley arts community.

Fleischer was supposed to serve as the host for the event but died unexpectedly on Wednesday at his home in Los Angeles.

He already had recorded interviews with several of the artists he’s worked with over the years, the Youngstown Symphony Society decided to go forward with the event using those pre-recorded segments.

The music director’s energy and enthusiasm were on full display as he was talking music with Youngstown guitar hero Phil Keaggy or encouraging Jodi Benson to share stories of her work on Broadway. Dee Snider of Twisted Sister talked about the the first time the band’s music was played on the radio — at the wrong speed! — and Fleischer’s reactions are priceless.

Fleischer’s passion for music was palpable, whether it was Tchaikovsky or Twisted Sister.

The program still can be viewed on the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra’s Facebook page, where visitors also will find a link for the silent auction that runs until 7 p.m. Saturday. Items available include a Fender Telecaster guitar that Keaggy used on tour and in the studio, a Viking River Cruise of Europe, dinner with Youngstown State University President Jim Tressel and his wife, performances by members of the YSO and original artwork.

● This year, the reward for voting in November will be more than an “I Voted” sticker.

It also will serve as a concert ticket.

In an effort to increase voter turnout, #iVoted is creating what is billed as the largest single night digital concert in history to coincide with Nov. 3 election.

More than 300 acts are committed to livestreaming performances on election night, including 3OH3!, a conversation with W. Kamau Bell and Living Colour, Citizen Cope, Drive-By Truckers, Joywave, Jukebox the Ghost, Lotus, My Brightest Diamond, The Dresden Dolls, The Mowglis, The Polyphonic Spree, Yonder Mountain String Band and Young the Giant.

Fans can RSVP for access to the show(s) of their choice by sending a selfie at home and their blank mail-in ballot or by sending a photo from outside of their polling place. Fans who are not 18 on election day can RSVP with a video letting #iVoted know what election they will be 18 for and why they’re excited to vote. Fans who aren’t U.S. citizens or are outside of the U.S. will be able to RSVP as well.
