Lakeview hosts Christmas concert
Lakeview Outreach and Fellowship is sponsoring a free Christmas concert at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Lakeview High School, 300 Hillman Drive, Cortland.
“Christmas in Cortland” will feature holiday favorites performed by the Cortland Community Band, led by Craig Wiencek, and the Community Chorus, led by Michelle Jones.
More than 1,000 cookies will be served following the concert. Donations will be collected to provide EMS workers in Cortland and Bazetta with bulletproof vests to use in the event of an active shooter situation. EMS workers in cities that have this protection can enter the active scene much earlier, resulting in much higher survival rates.
