Band-O-Rama brings the Youngstown State University Marching Pride indoors for a concert tonight at Stambaugh Auditorium.

The marching band will be joined by the YSU Wind Ensemble and YSU Percussion Ensemble at the performance, which a celebration of the Dana School of Music’s band program.

The concert begins with the YSU Percussion Ensemble, directed by Glenn Schaft, performing Lynn Glassock’s “Dragoon.”

The YSU Wind Ensemble, conducted by Stephen L. Gage, will play “Manic Flourish,” a composition by current Dana student Juan Rodriguez of Warren, who won the fall 2019 YSU Wind Ensemble Fanfare Competition. Suite No. 1 in E flat by Gustav Holst and Symphony No. 4 in F Minor by Pyotr Ilych Tchaikovsky (arranged by Lee Brooks) also will be performed.

YSU faculty member Andrew Mitchell will be accompanied by the wind ensemble on Anthony Barfield’s “Red Sky for Trombone and Wind Ensemble.”

Following intermission, the 170-member YSU Marching Pride will perform selections from its 2019 pre-game show, the half-time show “Winter Is Here: Ice Castle Ultimate Mixtape 2019” and select highlights from the season.

The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. today at Stambaugh Auditorium, 1000 Fifth Ave., Youngstown. Tickets are $7 for adults, $6 for senior citizens and students from other schools, and free for anyone with a YSU ID and can be purchased at the door.
