Thomas and Florence Buydos of Coitsville celebrated their 50th anniversary Aug. 19, 2022.

Thomas and the former Florence Hetrick were married Aug. 19, 1972, at St. Rose Catholic Church in Girard. The ceremony was officiated by Francis Zappitelli.

Flo worked as an accounts receivable clerk for Erskine Trucking from 1980 to 1991 and at the JibJab Hot Dog Shoppe at Truck World until 2000.

Tom also worked at Erskine Trucking, as a chief accountant from 1971 to 1990, retiring from Gary Bauer’s 4×4’s Unlimited as a dump truck driver.

The couple have no children but lots of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

They were active members at St. James The Apostle Parish in New Bedford and Pulaski, Pa., and continue to be active members and greeters at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Hubbard.

The couple received their anniversary blessings from the Most Rev. David J. Bonnar, bishop of Youngstown, on May 8, 2022, and from the Rev. Michael A. Swietz on Aug. 28, 2022.
