CANFIELD AARP TO MEET: The Canfield AARP will meet

1 p.m. Monday at the Canfield Presbyterian Church. Blood pressure readings will be available noon to 12:45 p.m.

The annual in-house picnic will take plac. Members whose last name begins with A through H are asked to bring a casserole and those with last names starting with I through Z should bring a salad or dessert along with a serving utensil and the name in the dish. Table service will be provided. Games and prizes will be enjoyed.

The October meeting will feature Barb Sierp giving the second part of her trip to Italy — “Italy at Its Finest.”

A bus trip to Jamestown, N.Y., is set for Sept. 17 and 18; on Dec. 17, there will be a trip to Westminster College to see the Texas Tenors, who performed on “America’s Got Talent.”

FALL FESTIVAL: Windsor House at Liberty Health Care Center and Liberty Arms Assisted Living, 1353-1355 Churchill Hubbard Road, will hosting their annual Fall Festival on Sunday, beginning with an 11 a.m. polka Mass celebrated by the Rev. Steve Popovich and featuring Eddie Vallus’ Memorial Band.

The festival will run from noon until 4 p.m. and include several local crafters / vendors, kid’s games, food, petting zoo, bounce house, music and auction. For additional information, contact Windsor House at Liberty Health Care Center at 330-759-7858.

RETIRED TEACHERS MEET: Mahoning Retired Teachers Association will meet for its fall luncheon Wednesday at Drake’s Landing Banquet Center, 2177 W. Western Reserve Road, Canfield.

The social hour will begin at 11 a.m., followed by lunch, a meeting and room.

Susan Harris Harris will preside, and newly retired educators will be introduced. Cathy Hergenrother from the YMCA will speak about the “SilverSneakers” program, and other classes are available. The community service collections will benefit YWCA Young Women With Bright Futures program.

UNDERSTANDING KNEE / HIP PAIN: MercyHealth Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine physicians and physical therapists will discuss options for the treatment and management of common hip and knee pain with conferences throughout the year.

The next one is scheduled for 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Jewish Community Center of Youngstown. Dinner will be served.

YOUNGSTOWN AARP: AARP 4611 East Youngstown will meet for its executive board meeting at 11 a.m. Sept. 18 at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 707 Arlington St.

A representative from Direction Home of Eastern Ohio (formerly known as the Area Agency on Aging 11), will speak at noon. Nominations for president ad vice president will follow.

Members are asked to take school supplies. July, August and September birthdays will be recognized, and old and new business will be discussed.

PERI TO MEET: A PERI monthly meeting will be held 11:15 a.m. Wednesday at Shepherd of the Valley, 4100 North River Road NE, Warren. Speakers will be Maj.
