Urban Farm and Garden Tour: Jubilee Garden

When: 6 p.m. today

What: Join OSU Mahoning County Extension every Monday through the summer to learn about growing vegetables and fruit, and to explore the farms and community gardens in Youngstown. Bring a lawn chair for seating or plants for identification / diagnosis.

Make and Take Garden Art: Miniature Gardens

When: 1 p.m. Wednesday

What: Natalie and Charlene will teach how to make a miniature garden. A mini figure, soil, a plant and the container will be provided. Bring whatever else you would like to add to your garden.

Wednesdays in the Garden: Coral Bells

When: 6 p.m. Wednesday

What: Join Master Gardeners in the Learning and Teaching Garden to learn about various gardening topics throughout the summer. Programs to be held outside. Bring a chair and dress accordingly.

Pressure Canner Testing

When: 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 11

What: Before canning fresh vegetables and fruits from your garden or local market, conduct canner pressure gauge testing. The Extension office will hosting a one-day drive-thru testing.

Where: OSU Extension Office, Mahoning County, 490 S. Broad St., Canfield

Cost: Free

Details: Drive into the Extension office. Stay in your car and hand out the pressure canner to a staff member.
