Covelli will flip with Motley Crue

While it was Barry Manilow tickets that had the Covelli Centre abuzz this weekend, the place will literally go upside down in just a few short weeks with Motley Crue and Poison.
The tour, which visits Youngstown on July 29, got started last week in Dallas. And typical of the over-the-top antics of Motley Crue, drummer Tommy Lee’s drum kit is afixed to a 360-degree roller coaster track.
A current You Tube video shows Lee performing a drum solo while he and the drums slowly make 360-degree turns on stage.
The kicker is this — at each show, a fan in the crowd will join Lee for a ride on the drum kit.
That’s interactive.
I wonder if they’ll leave it behind for Manilow to use with his piano?

1983 First album that raked in the bucks "Shout at the Devil".

I was 23. Now I am nearly dead. Seriously, anyone else out there who used to love this stuff, and now instead watches Laurence Welk on PBS because it reminds you of being a little kid and being at Gramma and Grampa's house?

I remember being with a girlfriend, reading a magazine (National Lampoon, very big in the day) reading an article that was basically making fun of people in 1983 still listening to Led Zeppelin. Now, you have Sex Pistols and Monkees tours. Oh well...

The point being? Well, I would love to see the Byrds, if McGuinn was playing. I would also love to see Tommy Dorsey, if he wasn't quite so dead. What is my point? Nothing really. I guess, this is the end (etc...).
