There are two things to point out today about downtown Youngstown:
• Free movies will be back on the screen in front of the Covelli Centre. The free showings will begin Monday, June 29. Here's the schedule:
June 29 — Iron Man
July 6 — Jaws
July 13 — Indiana Jones: Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
July 20 — Sixteen Candles
July 27 — The Family that Preys
August 3 —Madagascar 2
August 10 — Disturbia
August 17 — To Kill a Mockingbird
August 24 — Enchanted
August 31 — The Incredible Hulk
This year the City of Youngstown will show ten movies beginning at sundown each night and Touch of the Moon Candy will sell old-fashioned candy and popcorn at each movie, with all proceeds benefiting adults with disabilities. So bring a blanket and/or lounge chair & some treats (or go to a downtown restaurant before-hand). Tell your friends about the movies too.
• Welcome to West Fed the new Papa's restaurant, featuring Puerto Rican cuisine. They were handing out menus Tuesday after just opening up the kitchen inside of Barley’s Bar. The folks operate a similar place on Mathews Road off South Ave.
• Rosetta Stone was at it again Tuesday handing out free samples on West Fed. Tuesday's menu was some sort of Italian sandwich.

I am curious, how many restaurants are open downtown now?
Cafe Cimmento, The Youngstown Club, End of the Tunnel, Buffalo Wild Wings, Skeeters Jazz Bar, Rosetta Stone, Tomisino's, Lemon Grove (set to open by the end of the month) Barleys, Overtures at DeYor and the B&O Station.
July 3rd there will be a downtown dash that will kick off outside of Party on the Plaza infront of Buffalo Wild Wings. Restaurant and Bars include: Cafe Cimmento's, Cassese's MVR, the Royal Oaks, Buffalo Wild Wings, Skeeters Jazz Bar, Barleys, Rosetta Stone, The Old Precinct, The Youngstown Club, Cedars and the Draught House
July 4th there will be outdoor music from Khaled (The Zou) and Jones for Revival starting at 7pm and a fireworks show starting around 9:30pm. Feel free to bring blankets and snacks, the fireworks will be shot off from the Covelli Centre.
Donwtown 36 is also participating in the July3rd dash.
Thanks Lynds!
And please don't forget Jorgine's Deli .... it's a little gem of a place tucked inside the YMCA ... same for the collection of eats inside the old Phar-Mor. Lots of good food there, as well as a cool coffee shop.
We need a hot dog cart featuring kraut dogs and meat sauce downtown and at the Covelli Centre.
