« Struthers helps New Orleans

by   | 6 entries

We rose this morning with bittersweet emotions: sad to leave our friends, yet happy to return home.  After a filling breakfast at Shoney's, we traveled to the New Orleans St. Vincent De Paul.  There, we presented Deacon Rudy Rayfield a donation from the Mahoning County St. Vincent De Paul.

Overall, the kids had a wonderful time; they keep asking if we can come again next year.

"It was a very moving experience.  The hospitality was unexpected;it was a surprise to see the work was appreciated by everyone, not just the family," Corey Patrick said.

With final hugs and goodbyes, we drove across the Lake Pontchartrain bridge and began the long trip home.

I will continue to post photos from the trip, so be sure to keep a look out!  Also, all friends and family are welcome to join us at St. Nick's for a welcome home reception Saturday around 6.

Continue to pray for our safety on our journey home. Take care and God Bless, we're here because of you.
