Retired FBI agent Robert G. Kroner Jr., who spent much of his career battling organized crime in the Mahoning Valley, is being considered for the top job in the Organized Crime Division in the Ohio Attorney General's Office.
The appointment will be made by Marc Dann of Liberty when he becomes attorney general in January. Dann currently is a state senator.
Kroner, who is one of a handful of FBI agents credited with the destruction of the Mafia in the Valley, is now director of security for the B.J. Alan Company of Youngstown, one of the nation's leading importers, manufacturers and wholesalers of fireworks.
