Pavlik spent most of the fourth round chasing Martinez around the ring, failing to corner him when he had chances. Martinez did some showboating and was in control of the fourth. I gave him that round, his third.
In the fifth, Pavlik finally started to land a few shots, starting it with a nice left jab into Martinez's face midway through the round. He finally started to find Martinez with some good punches. Pavlik gets the round.
Pavlik has spent too much time throwing a single left jab, then looking for the straight right. He needs to either double his jab or throw something different, like a left hook. Pavlik gets the sixth round to even the fight. And Martinez has definitely stopped showboating.
