CNN has projected U.S. Sen. John McCain, R.-Ariz., as the winner of the Republican primary election in Ohio, picking up 88 delegates. Earlier, CNN declared McCain the winner of the Vermont primary election. He picked up all 17 delegates in Vermont.
The Associated Press reports that McCain will have 1,031 of the 1,191 delegates needed to secure the GOP nomination for president.
