WARREN – With 4 percent of Trumbull County precincts reporting, two hotly contested races for countywide offices are very close.
In the race for county sheriff, challenger Joseph Consiglio, Weathersfield Township’s police chief, has 1,192 votes, or nearly 50.6 percent of the votes counted so far, compared with incumbent Thomas Altiere with 1,164 votes.
In the county engineer’s race, David DeChristofaro has 1,211, or 53 percent, compared with Randy Smith, deputy county engineer, with 1,068 votes.
