Our valley has many events to celebrate Italian culture and the impact it has on our area. When I think of Italy, teo things come to mind:  Great wine and food.  Local wine club Valley Vino holds an event Saturday to celebrate both. The event kicks off at 7:30PM at The Youngstown Club and is open to the public.  Guests will enjoy the opportunity to taste five Italian wines with a little cheese and fruit for $20. There are also numerous dinner options for tasters to enjoy should they desire to do so.  These includes authentic Italian appetizers and entrees along with a live cooking station in the dining room featuring "build your own pasta entree". People can choose from a variety of noodle options, sauces, meats, vegetables, and seafood to complement their pasta selection.

The combination of wine and food is an important part of Italian culture.  Each wine will be paired with an appetizer and entree, with recomendations on how to maximize the enjoyment of each wine.  Here's a look at the wines being featured:

Appetizer: Sticky Lemon Shrimp Scampi

Entree: Chicken Putanseca
