Ohio Wine Month ends with a bang this weekend, as local wine lovers converge on The Youngstown Club for a wine taste celebrating wines from the buckeye state and other domestic wineries. The taste begins at 7:30 on Friday and features two different tasting options:  Wines of Ohio and Wines of The West Coast. The event is open to the public and casual dress is permitted.

Local wine and food club Valley Vino is co-hosting the event with The Youngstown Club.  There are some great food pairings to go with the wines including a special dessert menu paired with the Ohio wines.  Here's a rundown of the wine and food available:

Ohio (Taste 5 Wines for $20, deserts extra)

Mon Ami Riesling - Fresh Fruit Cup

Ferrante Strawberry Blanc - Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Ferrante Raspberry Blanc - White Chocolate Bread Pudding

Maize Valley Apple Pie - Caramel Apple Pie

Mantey Blackberry Wine - Chocolate Lava Cake

West Coast USA (Taste 5 wines for $20, dinner extra)

O'Reilly's Pinot Gris (Oregon) - Mahi Mahi Tostada

Bookwalter Red Blend (Wash) - BBQ Ribs over Parmesan Polenta

The event was designed to truly have something everyone according to Youngstown Club GM Katie Dodd.  "We have your sweet fruity wines and your dry reds and whites.  We also offer an incredible variety of dinner and appetizer options to enjoy with the wines and the dessert menu is to die for."
