Ledgewood Creek Winery has developed into one of the top producers in the Suisun Valley over the last two decades. Suisan is about an hour straight north of San Francisco and is on the Eastern border of the Napa Valley. The Frisbie family purchased an estate with a pear orchard on it in the early 1980's and bagan trasnforming their porpert into a vineyard and winery. Today, ledgewood creek produces a wide variety of quality wines from their vineyard holdings in Suisan and Napa. Here's a look at their portfolio:
PQ Chardonnay - Balanced and complex with classic CA flavor. Very Clean.
PQ Sauvignon Blanc - Distinct citrus fruit flavors of lemon lime and orange.
PQ Red Cuvee - Smoothfruit flavors of cherry and plum balanced with tannic spice.
PQ White - Blend of three white varietals offers a burst of citrus and orchard fruit.
Owl House Red -Well balanced tannins, acidity, and fruit lead to a pleasant finish.
Owl House White - Light and fruity with flavors of pineapple and butterscotch.
Cabernet - Concentrated flavor of cassis and black cherry. Full bodied.
Three Clone Chardonnay - Fruit driven with aromas of tropical fruits and butter.
GSM - Balanced tannins and ripe cherry fruit in a very approachable style.
Sauvignon Blanc - Fragrant and delicious with tropical / citrus flavors.
Merlot - Fruit flavors up front with a smoky, coffe-chocolate finish.
Viognier - Elegant and aromatic with white peach and honeyysuckle notes.
Syrah - A burst of blackberry greets the pallate with a long, full finish.
Ledgewood Creek wines are available in local independent wine shops and restaurants throughout the valley. They are distributed by Natural State Wine and Beer out of Columbus. If your local store doesn't carry them, they can easily get them for you from Natural States. Local wine club Valley Vino is offering you chance to taste these wines as part of their "Discovery Series" tasting this Thursday evening at 6:30 at Station Square Ristorante (I-80 at Belmont Ave).
