I sure hope that if sequester takes effect and they have to cut, that the teachers who take all of their alloted sicks days every year are the ones that go first. There are good teachers and they should be rewarded. It is time for "pay for performance".
They already work approximately 800 hours less than a non-public full time worker. If they take off, they should not get paid, and you will see the attendence number go up. They are setting a bad example (work ethic) for their students by missing so many days. Now wonder why this generation has an entitlement attitude; their teachers that mold them do as well.
