SVSM holds off Poland for regional title

Point about the roster is where the kids come from- which is Out of State. That was Grisdale's point. It is possible that a team will win the Ohio State DII Championship with 4 boys that are not even from Ohio. That is a travesty and a disservice to all student athletes in the State of Ohio from both Public and Private schools.

Guest123- please do your research. Educate yourself before speaking on these posts. It is not hard to find St. V's roster.

Additionally, I understand many of you don't like Poland. But again, I ask people to educate themselves before they make comments- especially about money. Do a survey of the average household incomes in the area.... Secondly, Cardinal Mooney's population is made up of a large number of Poland residents- the more wealthier ones mind you.

Lastly- when you are successful people will either love you or hate you. Poland's athletic programs have been some of the best in the area for nearly two decades now. And their success has come at the hands of much larger schools like Howland and Canfield- and as of late Fitch and Boardman. And their refusal to play Mooney or Ursuline just adds fuel to the fire.

Sorry folks- it is what it is.

Some of you people are clueless. I have been reading all week about Catholic schools week, yet I live in a community (Poland), where I don't see these people in church, they pull their kids from PCBA because they cant get along with people, and in one case I know of they live in neighborhoods where they wont even speak to their neighbors. I am sorry to inform all of you, but religion, respect, integrity, class and being humble is taught in the home- not at a school.

As far as this game- anyone notice anything different about the kids in the stands and the kids playing the game??? I am sure those boys all came in from out of state for a good catholic education. The Ohio High School Athletic Association needs to be held accountable. St V's is simply playing within the rules as much as many of us don't like it.

As far as Coach Grisdale- he did a great job this season with those boys. It is hard to compare abilities to coach when you are choosing from 400 boys in a school and coach Joyce can select from anywhere in the country. To me- sounds like coach Joyce is sour because someone finally had enough courage to call him out.

Very sad what happened to these boys in Canton yesterday. It was a well played game, but with Poland trailing by only 4 points late in the game the officials all of a sudden went blind and every call went to St Vs. You would have had to be there to understand just how bad it was. Great job Poland against this AAU team known as St Vs.

Canfield ends athletic contests against Mooney

Bad news for Mooney.... Canfield is just the first to drop them. Others will be following suit. Many may not realize this, but the public schools and ADs are rallying together, especially after Mooney poached the Bilas kid from Poland. The public schools are done with the "we don't recruit" garbage that Mooney has put out for years. How do you fix that problem? Easy- rally the troops and isolate the bully. Good luck Mooney- looks like another 8-9 game schedule playing teams from outside of the area.

Desouza- plain and simple you are a classless individual. Not sure why you are still employed.

Change coming to Poland schools

What will be restored is clearly listed on www.abulldogforwever.com. Voting no will only make it worse. We are already at bare minimum with teachers Too many courses have already been cut! Not sure what else people expect. Vote yes!!!! We need to step up and take care of our town. If we don't, we will become Liberty.... And that is not a threat- it is a reality.

Poland officials hope 4th try succeeds

You all sound like my next door neighbor. Retired from GM after 30 years at age 52, was making 100k a year with 5% co-pay on benefits. And he is the guy pointing a finger at teachers saying they make too much. He has a high school education and put screws on a car for a living. Teachers have years of schooling and are educating the youth of America. Something seems a little backword here don't ya think?

For those of you against the levy- you need to start thinking about your property values. Liberty was once a flourishing community with great property values. Times have changed people- protect your community and educate your children. These are the foundations that we need to rally behind. Cuts??? If you don't know or understand what has already been cut then you are clearly out of the loop. Visit www.abulldogforever.com and educate yourself on the facts.
