the gov't unions at YSU are very powerful. what role did they play in selecting the new university president?

what choice did the trustees make? it's been only Anderson all along. how much was spent in an attempt to make this look righteous?

do any of the candidates possess the qualifications that will satisfy the ones with the control? Fingerhut/Strickland? i'd hate to see another HUD type problem.

let's play a game. cut out the quotes from the candidates without reference to name or institution and see if anyone can match the quotes with the right candidate. they all seem to say the same thing and I'm not sure I've heard much about the "hows" of leading an "urban research university."

crlbk1052 is right. let's continue this conversation next week. those in power stay in power.

goYtown is right. everyday there are verbal threats that are just dismissed. does this case have more to do with keeping him quiet by others involved in the past negotiations (on both sides?). illegal or unethical who knows. no one will investigate what really happened with our tax dollars?

YSU good fit? so was Georgia Southern "Podolefsky: Georgia Southern ‘just feels good’" (from: http://www.stp.georgiasouthern.edu/in...). Of course when he didn't get the Georgia Southern job it wasn't a good fit. he said the same two things about Central Washington (http://www.digitalburg.com/artman2/pu...). some folks will say or do anything to get a job (for themselves or their friend). would we risk athletics to hire him? besides my friend at YSU said that the dean of CSTEM said that Dr. Anderson was a done deal from the start and then left town before the interview. so why should we bother with these candidates?

this is the third time in two weeks you have commented on the importance of the next ysu president. do you know something we don't?

Tigerlily makes an excellent suggestion. the more light that can be shined on this subject the better. also, should candidates be brought in at a considerable expense to all involved if it's obvious they can't get the job? Is there a point to doing this?

YSU is vital to this community as is the choice of the next president. However, the search does not seem to be off to a good start.
