This is depressing. Why isn't there a provost from an Akron, a Kent, an O.U. or an equivalent school? Is this search a setup for one candidate, suppose to fail or is this the best we can get for YSU? The school's on a downward spiral. What's the guess on enrollment next year? Is there any one of these candidates who is going to pull it out? It didn't seem to take gfpalmer very long to find real concerns. Maybe he should start a search firm. I'm not optimistic.
I don’t believe either gentleman deserves such vile comments. Coach Tressel has not forgotten the Youngstown area and Dr. Shiptka has accomplished more good than most. How many million dollar donors to YSU are there? Have any of our previous YSU presidents remembered the Valley after they retired? How many are still members of our community or have donated to YSU? Perhaps, caring about the Valley, as these two gentlemen have, should be a more valued criterion for the job of president at YSU than it currently is.
Eight to be interviewed next week for YSU president

Jim Tressel for Youngstown State president?
