Hopefully the administration will do what it needs to do.. and so, the rumor mill has started already w/the following candidate names being tossed out there: Harlon Barnett, an assistant @ Michigan State, Rick Shepas, former YSU player/grad, now head coach @ Wayneburg, and Dick Angle from Howland High School...

“Now, [Williams] will be fighting Sergio Martinez in a 3,500-seat ballroom and we’ll be fighting at home. That tells you who the draw is.”

This a bold statement Mr. Loew considering you haven't sold "a" single ticket yet. You also failed to mention that Williams is guaranteed a little over 650k for the fight. Hmmmm.... Hope the hand heals and good luck Kelly

It is what it is...nothing more / nothing less. Hope to see everyone for the after "sparring match" party @ BW or the 13th round. This includes everyone heading to Disney on Ice.

Send it this way..I know of several locations in Youngstown, Austintown,...anywhere that has 70 acres available. All close to 76/80/680/11 and plenty of trucking companies that can get it from here to there or even from a rail yard

Hrusvosky, it's Claypool. Jason Claypool. Second, please reference one malicious statement made. Perhaps you should turn on 1240am in the Y-town market and listen to the boxing showing which airs on Wednesday and listen to Mike C. Sr. & Jr. They are part of Team Pavlik, this is where information comes from. Also, feel free to make the trip north and visit the Civics, Draught House, The Oaks, and if you need more I will give them to you. I have no issue w/someone/anyone enjoying themselves, it's their life, do what you want. Kelly has not asked one thing of the City or any fans, therefore he owes nothing to anyone except himself and his family. Therefore, either fight or go away.

Kelly & Paul who? Hope the casino's order enough beer this time since as advertised on a local sports talk station they claim the people from Youngstown came for the fight, took the prize money & drank all the beer. Another shining moment for us. Fellas, will you & Brett Favre hurry up and go away.

I guess the Civics gave him a better purse than HBO &/or Showtime. So much for holding out for more money...I guess the network needed to throw in a few PBR's to make it worth Kelly's while. Good luck to all..

Oh I think we get the whole picture.. I think you and Team Pavlik don't see the whole picture. First, he chose to be a fighter, for whatever reason(s), that is the path he chose, just like everyone else in life. Again, taking nothing away from him, times have changed. Our society is a "now" society, doesn't matter what he did or who he beat yesterday, society wants it "now". He needs to strike while the iron is hot. Simple economics is saying his "value" is depreciating the longer he stays out of the ring, not appreciating. That's the way it is. There are plenty of younger guys coming up that will gladly take 1/2 the pay just for the chance to fight and move up. Granted Kelly is the champ, but the value of his title is not set by the commission but rather promoters and his camp. If his camp is playing hardball, they should be prepared if he strikes out.

Please tell me he is not serious about his statements. If he is serious, take the following into consideration. He is not Lebron James, nor is he Brady Quinn, both play for "teams". He is a fighter, much like a tennis player or golfer. When Tiger tee's it up on Thursday he knows he will make "X" amount if he wins. Does not matter if there is 1 person or 100,000 in attendance. The money is the same and is determined by the event and "popularity" of the event. Maybe Mr. Pavlik and his team should re-evaluate their strategy, understand the economics of it all, collectively re-group, head back to the gym instead of "the other things" that he indicated he has going on, and get back at it. In today's day and age, society lives for the moment and cheers for the winner..don't wait too long or it may just be a memory. Best of Luck
