Students could earn elective credit for religious classes

How about a course in Ku Klux Klan, a religion that teaches hatred of African-Americans, Catholics and Jews --- will kids be given credits for that?

Poland Village considers measures to protect historic homes

Too little, too late, Poland.

Since the 1960s, historic houses in Poland have been demolished with impunity.

The House of Seven Gables --- a Victorian ginger bread masterpiece --- on 224 near the center of "downtown" Poland was demolished for an ugly restaurant building and parking.

And along main street, several very old houses --- early 1800s --- were also demolished without a second thought, for road and commercial "improvements."

Poland, you've done too little, too late.

Gay-marriage amendment won't make Ohio's fall ballot

According to a June 14 report in the Washington Post, the Vindicator's information on this topic is Dead Wrong:
"But there will be no same-sex marriage question on the Ohio ballot in 2014, even though advocates collected more than 650,000 petition signatures to put the question to voters, many more than the 385,000 required.
The reasons? Raw political calculation and a more disciplined approach to strategy by the leaders of the gay rights movement.
. . . The preferred strategy, marriage-equality advocates say, is in courtrooms, where judges have handed down several decisions in recent months legalizing same-sex marriage. Since last June, there have been 14 federal court rulings against state bans on same-sex marriage — with the most recent judge’s ruling coming earlier this month in Wisconsin."

Why would the Vindicator publish lies?

Poland teacher suspended for showing video to sixth graders

Does the "P" in Poland stand for Prudes and Puritans?

I have not seen the film in question, but I hope that art history is not outlawed in Poland, and that would include ancient, Roman art.

Would sixth graders be allowed to see Michelangelo's "David" when they were visiting Florence, Italy?

God made man and woman, and the sight of a human body should NOT be considered inappropriate for any human to see.

If it is deemed inappropriate, there is something Perverted about the Prudes who think so.

When and where did Tressel earn his Ph.D.?

In what field is his doctorate?

How many papers has he published in his field of expertise?

How many books has he written and published?

What experience does he have as a university president/professor?

Is he qualified for this job?

Seems not to be.

Sad for YSU.

Youngstown voters reject fracking ban in city for the 3rd time

Fracking pollutes the earth, the water and the air.
As a Catholic, I view this as the desecration of God's creation --- and all for the purposes of greed and selfishness.
Therefore, Fracking is a Sin.
Youngstown has been spiraling down since the early 1960s - - - Fracking will complete the devastation of the city.
St. Francis is the patron saint of the environment, let's proclaim him as our patron in our struggle against Fracking.
St. Francis, protect and deliver us from Fracking.
