What about the unequal treatment between Delphi Salaried retirees and GM Salaried retirees? Both companies were bankrupt yet one group lost health care and had its pension turned over to the PBGC while the latter group did not.
Read the article in the Detroit News today that shows that the pension funds of the big 3 are all in trouble. GM's pension fund is underfunded by $18 billion, Ford by $12 billion. Ultimately all the employees (both hourly and salary) will get reduced pensions run by the PBGC.
