The "ugly gray industrial building" near the Market Street bridge hasn't been demolished because there is a business operating out of it...

"Jehojena bought the property for $3,000 on June 9, 2008, from Schouten Manita of Slyvan Lake, Alberta, Canada. Schouten Manita bought the property for $3,000 on Sept. 24, 2007, from AVR Holdings Inc., an Elmhurt, Ill., company. AVR purchased it for $59,381 on June 22, 2007, from American Tax Funding, which foreclosed on the property through a tax lien."
Nice job, Mahoning County. We really appreciate you going out of your way to aid out of town scam artists.

"Ever see a poor person create a job? Ever see poor people open businesses and hire people."
Are you comfortable hiding behind your fact-less opinions and half-truths, clarkkent?

Ron, wrong department. The building department issues construction permits and such. The department of housing code enforcement and demolition is who your gripe is with. (this department is also seeing layoffs)

Alex, the number one problem in Youngstown is people like you who have no grasp on reality and spew misinformation instead of keeping their mouths shut. Murders on a daily basis??? What fantasy world are you living in?!?!? This isn't Baghdad. The city has had a grand total of 21 homicides this year. Not 265. Not 200. Not 150 or 137 or 98 or 76 or 50 or even 30.
One murder is too many, but it's people like you who spread this false notion that Youngstown is the equivalent to a third world country. Random acts of violence are relatively rare in the city. Bottom line is, you go looking for trouble, you'll find it. Just like in any other city across America.

Get your facts straight, Viewpoint. The current school board took the city school system from $40 million in debt to an expected budget surplus this year.
