Packard hourly and salaried retirees are united; they should get support from entire Valley

Sir / Madame:
You are a perfect example of what this letter is speaking to. I am one of those 50 something, potbellied, gray haired retirees who protested. I have found a job that pays well over what you suggested as market controlled. I obtained this job due to the fact that while at Packard I went to college after my shift and studied after that. I received two degrees plus a skilled trade journeyman's card. Perhaps education is the enlightening element here? Since you never did my job then how could you know my value? All I want back is MY retirement benefits - what I paid into that retiree system - what I EARNED - my benefits back as PROMISED.

IUE, GM reach deal on pensions pensions

Well "teenie" here is how it went. When GM spun off Delphi I had 26 years with them. When I retired, GM offered to take over our pensions to help out Delphi. Delphi gave "my earned pension money" to GM and they blew it. So there you have it "teenie" a history lesson. Get it?

IUE, GM reach deal on pensions pensions

We earned that pension with every hour we worked and it was mishandled by GM and then by Delphi. I am sorry too for that and if a lawsuit is what it takes to set big companies straight then go for it. Not asking for a bail out or a hand out! Just asking for what I earned. Yes we were sent letters telling us our retirement was funded and then one day it was all gone. Hope it never happens again to anyone.

Delphi Packard retirees will get health-care benefits, pensions from GM

We union people are on your side. We have said that all along. You come to our meetings and we reinforce that. Our job is not done until you ALL get what you were promised. The reported story needs more clarification of facts. Look for us this weekend supporting you and your fight for equality and justice!
