I found the comments Dale made during the court hearing very telling about who he really is and what he actually was most concerned about. I did not hear an appology to the victim ( let's not forget that it was he who raped a 15 year old girl on the basement floor in the church), his family, especially his wife, to the few members of the church who stood by him, to the community ,to anyone.... just that his life and reputation was ruined! What? How Christian of him to forget so quickly who actually to hold accountable for his unraveling.. There were many, many lives affected by this man's actions... wonderful members of Zion have had to find spiritual recovery in other churches, victims of his deviant aggression are left with deep emotional scars..their families as well, those members who were left are very much divided and strapped with an enormous financial debt to deal with. We all pray for the victims on both sides of this travisty and that God will help them find peace and closure . It's time for those members who are still willing to stay and turn Zion around and make it a church for EVERYONE to let Council know that they are not speaking for the PEOPLE of Zion.. their leadership has brought us to this very day and we can no longer allow business as usual!

OMG!! (Oh, my God!) Whoever Tellthetruth is I hope he/she can get psychological help... "I saw you take money from the offering plates to pay her with??????!!!!" Yikes!!! I assure you that I am not involved with this incredible, sad string of events that have led up to the circus that is playing out before us now! I think Tellthetruth should address his/her comments to those members of council who have somehow managed to look the other way during the many years that Dale has been honing his skills as a preditor...his inner circle of "yes" guys who are still running council and defend their leader to this day! Members like you are the reason why many of the wonderful caring and Christian members of Zion hve left.....all I can say is OMG to your absurd comments!

It is clear to me that the Giffin defence lawyer feels that although in his oppinion there is not enough evidence to call this case a "rape" rather than just your average consensual trist between a man and a "woman" and the case should be dismissed. Wow, I guess anything goes if you have enough money to get yourself a "ticket out of prison" and /or ex-pastors are exempt of owning up to their own sins against young vunerable female members of his former church!!!! Not for one moment do I buy in to this nor should any parent of a minor daughter who has been victimized by this preditor....the important thing to remember here is the age of this victim when Dale began his conquest and how that initial experience for her began a lifetime emotional roller coaster ride . Wrong is wrong, Dale crossed the line , this pompous spiritual leader, pillar amoung the community, friend, father, HUSBAND????, PASTOR???? indeed has a dark side to his flawed personality and should stand gudgement for his sins!!! PERIOD!

Seems Tellthetruth didn't read the entire article.... The truth of the matter is that Dale is still a preditor ..he still had sex with this girl..beginning when she was a minor and as a Pastor of Zion Lutheran Church he crossed the line! Plain and simple. There are 7-8 more victims waitng for their day in court.. I guess if this indictment and evidence is not enough to convict him, they will bring one after another into court until they do get a conviction! I await patiently.

Just read the article on Dale Giffin in the Sunday paper....have to say this whole thing makes me so angry! Jerry Ingram would like us to believe that these charges are false because the" rape" was consensual and therefore Dale's case should be dismissed. Ha! I agree with Bishop Eaton when she said that Dale violated the sancity of trust when he crossed that line of engaging in a sexual relationship with a troubled young girl.. not once but over and over again! He was the adult, the trusted minister who brought spiritual guidance to all members of Zion Lutheran Church..or so they thought! I would also like to bring up the ethical question of Judge Evans and his relationship with Dale....during a death in his family Dale was there counciling them in their time of need.. should Judge Evans remove himself from this case?????

Heard the new minister of Zion is really a great guy and is looking forward to bringing Zion back to a "CHRIST" centered church. Has anyone heard as to when Dale goes to court? Still need to ask hard questions to the council.. if they're still in "POWER"?

Has anyone heard when Dale will be going to trial? Heard he has postponed twice and I wondered why????? There is no chance that this trial will simply go away and that he will not be held responsible for his misdeeds, right? Let's talk.
