Just publish something positive about Youngstown and the naysayers come out of the woodwork.
I venture to say that these people never lifted a finger to do something positive for Youngstown.

PhD.....doesn't that stand for "Piled Higher and Deeper" ?? I know many PhDs and believe you me they couldn't find their way out of a paper bag. I would stack Jim Tressel up against most PhDs when it comes to intelligence and common sense.
The die is cast. Let's all join with Jim and the administration and make the best of this situation for the sake of YSU and Youngstown..

I would be willing to bet that the most vocal of Jim Tressel's critics are born losers themselves and would love to see him fail.
All youse guys from Yunkstown that are without original sin cast the first stone. Hmmmmm.....I don't see any stones coming this way.
I hope that there is a lot of crow eaten in the next few years.
Go Jim....we love you !!

It never gets any better with the naysayers in Youngstown. They just wait to get up every morning and pounce on anyone or anything that could be good for the greater Youngstown area. If the Good Lord was on the short list they would find something to make Him look bad.
Anyone that follows the current duties of College Presidents knows that to be successful in this day and age they have to be good union negotiators, organizers, delegators, fund raisers, community leaders,etc......not so much academia geniuses. They have provosts, deans, etc. to do that.
I would stake my life on Jim Tressel being one of the best presidents that YSU ever had and that the University would move further up the ladder than any University in the state.

Institutions no longer need a president in the old sense of academia.
University presidents should have their degree in business administration. They are, after all, running a large "corporation". They have to deal with fund raising, unions, budgets, etc. As far as curriculum is concerned they have provosts and deans for every specialty to handle that.
Lets hire a proven business CEO that can run "YSU Company". Jim Tressel is a unique individual. I don't know if he's the answer, but I would bet that he would do a better job than Anderson, Cochran and Sweet. They were all mediocre at best.

I DON'T THINK THAT MEYER IS SEEING WELL AT ALL. HE SAID THAT THEY ARE GOING TO WORK HARD NOW SO THAT THEY CAN WIN THE ORANGE BOWL.
ONE THING TO WORK ON IS TO NOT GIVE STUPID PLAYS TO BRAXTON MILLER. HE LOOKED TERRIBLE AGAINST MICH.STATE BECAUSE HE COULDN'T EXECUTE THE PLAYS SENT IN BY MEYER !!

Let me sum it up in a few words.
Meyer is all talk and no show.
Meyer was out coached again !!

DON'T BE TOO QUICK TO BELITTLE THE ACC.TIMES ARE ACHANGING AND THE ACC IS GETTING STRONGER.
YOU CAN'T COMPARE FSU WITH LITTLE WAKE FOREST (ABOUT 3000 STUDENTS).

Get a life Porter. This must be the first and only time that he has been given a little authority in his life. . Let's get rid of Porter and elect someone that uses his energy for the betterment of the schools and not nit pick the Supt. I can't believe that I am reading something this stupid.

David Betras is a loud mouthed, egotistical, power hungry empty suit. His lack of brain power is masked by his ranting and raving. He should be banished from the public arena. Youngstown deserves better.
