Fracking chemicals source of fear, but also in everyday life

Holy stuff... Is Henkel high?? We need objective journalism on this subject, not sophomoric fantasies of industry talking points. I had more faith in investigative and objective reporting from this guy- shouldn't have been so. It reads like a high school creative writing paper. It's Naive to take these folks on their word after what has happened in Medina, Youngstown, Coitsville, PA, OK, TX,NY... Etc. ODNR will save us...

ODNR still unsure of D&L well’s tie to Valley earthquakes

Amen. P.S. What happened at the Vindy? Yall started off strong but now it's clear there's no investigative journalism going on. I sure hope big oil and gas isn't coming down hard on the ownership (rich and powerful types stick together like that). The Valley needs a critical voice on this toxic wasteland they want to create. Hagan can't win them all. What happens when nobody can live in Youngstown anymore and it's one big injection well? Maybe PA folks will buy a copy of the Vindy for a laugh. Those McKees Rocks types..

200 rally in Columbus against hydraulic fracturing

Ha yeah. Don't forget to remind them about King Kasich's SB5 exploits. Hagan was kicking and screaming on that issue before it became popular too. He's pretty much the defacto watchdog for the state. Thank god someone's paying attention.

Bully Pulpit

Louie: Couldn't agree more. I don't know what is more embarrassing: that we continue to publicize Traficant's insane demands through the county government, or that we had a welcome home from prison party for him.

Lesson for future officeholders- embezzle taxpayer and mafia money to become your community's Christ-like, Rev. Jim Jones savior and get your own radio show.

Beam ME up, because, frankly, I don't give a damn.

Study: Alcohol more lethal than heroin, cocaine

"What governments decide is illegal is not always based on science." Hahaha! No kidding...look at how we have treated Cannabis in this country.

Naturally occurring, decidedly non addictive, no known fatalities, proven medical uses, safer than alcohol.....Oh wait...black people and Latinos use it, better put them in prison quick!

Ron Reagan: 'Marijuana is the most dangerous drug affecting Americans today'....

The only thing we can thank that joker for was increased taxes and a 20% increase in our national debt.

Hopefuls keep on stumping

That's absurd. Like John Kasich and Rob Portman are really going to advocate for increased government funding of pensions in our amazing "free market" economy.

The truth is, they weren't lying when they promised us more competition. Now you'll be competing with laid off state, county, and local employees for pension restoration. Talk about biting off your nose to spite your face.

County urged to defund chamber

It's about time someone had the guts to take a stand against the corporate interests that:

1. Heap more job responsibilities on to current employees (without increased pay or benefits) while laying off countless working fathers and mothers.

2. "Can't afford to hire new employees" during the leadership of a Democratic government.

3. Yet, somehow they have billions of dollars sitting around to blow on getting Republicans elected today.

AWESOME! Let's give these guys bigger tax breaks so they can get ready to bust the bank for Campaign 2012 using extra money from tax subsidies that you and I are paying for.

Corporate Ohio-Corporate America: Didn't get the jobs done.

Assault witness says Hagan was belligerant one

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!! I don't even know what this last comment has to do with this story, but it looks like the author is insinuating that Hagan shouldn't be allowed to eat dinner in downtown Youngstown with his family.

Vindy: What is up here!?! We have multiple stories, all of which have ZERO investigative journalism. From the reports I read, this "witness" is involved in the incident and reportedly pulled out a taser when this happened. Where are the questions about the this? Don't you need a concealed carry permit to have one outside your home or business???

Also, let's remember the context. Hagan and his family were there for about 2-3 minutes. That's not enough time to even start a fight???!

The real tragedy is that his 18 year old daughter had to step in to prevent Dorian from stomping his head in once Hagan hit the ground. She was promptly pushed down on top of her Dad. Shouldn't there be an additional assault charge pending?

I don't see how people turn this around on Hagan like he's some kind of plotting, devious, political superpower. Everyone blames him for being so politically conscious, but then accuses him of being "belligerent" to his constituents? Give me a break. He would never talk down to anyone in Youngstown unless they were going after the "little guy".

Even if you don't agree with Hagan's politics, if you have met him, you have to agree that he cares deeply for his fellow community members and the city. He IS THE MOST HUMBLE politician you will ever find in the Valley, maybe the state. Some of you are misinterpreting his humor as arrogance.

I won't even dignify JD01's first comment with a response. You obviously never met Hagan, and don't know the good people he associates with- mainly, ALL PEOPLE.

So Dorian never was violent until now- and I never wanted candy until I had my first piece. FAT DEAL...

Dorian's lucky. And, if the rest of you want Youngstown to improve you should stop promoting hatred, fear, and violence- and start supporting the people that support you.

State Rep. Hagan assaulted at downtown cafe

Alfred1775: get real. It's gross that you advocate violence. And no personal feelings involved, this clearly was not a political statement.

If we let everyone express their "frustration" in this manner, you might be the only one left....and i sure don't want that. You should buy yourself a beer buddy.
