As a bus driver with 30 years experience if Buses are equipped with seat belts you will have more injuries and deaths as it only takes 2 minutes for a bus to become filled with smoke. The driver is responsible for the safe removal of all students. if you look at a bus with 40 some K-3 graders in a panic situation a driver would not have the ability to unhook and evacuate all students in 2 minutes. Go to your local school and inquire from the supervisor we go through evacuation training 3 times a year with students
