This is not right. Mr. Kaufman knows what he did to those boys and those 2 werent the only ones! (FACT) These are the only 2 that were fortunate enough to go to trial. It is a shame that these kids can not go on with their lives and start to put this behind them. What he did to these boys has destroyed their innocence. The nightmare will have to be relived. I pray to God a plea is not made. Michael Kaufman is scum of the earth and should never be let out to do this again!!!
This is sad. Posters are automatically putting blame on these children and their parents. I take it kids are not allowed to play in their back yards or neighborhoods without being accused of a crime. If this was your child I am sure you would not put up with this. You would be the first person at the police station in an uproar. I do not blame the parents for poor parenting. I do not know these parents but I do know they taught their children to study & bring their books home from school. They also taught thier children what neighbors they can go to if need be. An investigation into this police officers conduct should be done. How can a community respect their police force if they do not respect the community they are serving and protecting?
So why don't we just close the Youngstown School system and not give a damn! So many want to throw away these kids' opportunity to learn. You have all the answers. Why don't you show them how to improve the system. I am a product of the Youngstown School System. I believe I got a quality education and I continue to get a quality education at YSU. Yes, there needs to be more parental involvement in Youngstown. There is a cycle going on and it needs to be broken. However, these children are the future. They need every opportunity afforded to them to learn. Not all programs will work. Not all children will "succeed" but that does not give you or anyone the right to take away their opportunity to learn. Instead of placing blame on others, do something to help correct the problems (starting with attitudes about these children). I am not saying change doesn't need to be made, because it does. This starts with peoples' peception that all kids in Youngstown are doomed to fail. There will be many to succeed and I promise you those are the ones that will make a difference in our tomorrow.
People can complain all they want. Dr. Anderson is a class act all the way! I personally can not wait until she begins the role of President. Everyone will see what GREAT leadership is all about. She will be fair and she will have the students best interests at heart.
The assumptions here are terrible. It is obvious many of you have never bought tickets for a highly desired event. I did get tickets this morning on the ticket master website. It did take many tries and changing the quanity of tickets needed. I was able to purchase 3 tickets and I am not anyone with any kind of pull nor do I know anyone with the Covelli Centre. I am just a local resident that wanted to go to the concert and was one of the lucky ones to get some tickets. I have been to the Covelli Center for many events and I hope they continue to their success. The reason some had early tickets is because the Elton John fan club had a presale yesterday and many of those tickets were bought and sold through scalpers. Nearly ALL fan clubs and/or radio stations get a limited amount of tickets for their fans. Everything that happens in Youngstown doesnt have to be made out to be evil or corrupt. Now, I can't wait til May 1st Rock on Y-Town!!!
Dr. Anderson would be nothing but an asset to the university and it's students. She is one of the hardest working people at YSU. First and foremost she is their for the students and enjoys what she does. As a current student I would love to see her as our next president. It would be the University's loss if she were to be passed over.
